Christopher Brammer It appears I've arrived late to the Mr So & So party, for which I can only beg forgiveness, but after seeing 'The Dave' at a Steve Rothery gig last year I decided to check them out. Wow!!! 'Paperchase' blew me away with it's melodies, harmonies and genuine rock! Having now had a chance to digest the rest of this album it is now in danger of being worn out! I can hear snippets of Yes, Tori Amos and Van Halen in here, but the overall muse isn't any of them, it's Mr So & So, and it's great!!! Favorite track: Paperchase.

Mike Rossiter Unique but instantly recognisable. Hopefully they will venture south more often as they sound even better live.

Paperchase 08:19
Find it! in the cracksss! Hide it! Paperchase If you could turn the clock back; And take alternate mental dirt-tracks Broken hearts there may recall you; Miss Adventure may befall you. Find it! in the cracksss! Hide it! Paperchase! Scribbled scraps of screwed up paper; Folded future fornicator Husbands, wives with different spouses; Altered lives haunt different houses The paper chase around Clock-Face Within the note you found a trace We got the most from Fingerpost To Super-8 for tea & toast And often seen in Denton's Green And further still upon Bleak Hill We roll around the Circle (We go down and up the Junction) Souls knot-tied now not together; Severed unborn from the tether Bluff a bleeding heart for preacher; Snuff out leader, artist, teacher Truths, Lies & Half-lies

Apophis 06:44
Sitting round in circles with your xenophobic views One hand open, the other is a fist Haven’t seen a change in two hundred thousand years Some things never made it to the list Well on it’s way now, the darkest hour that you're thinking of You can't get away from Armageddon that it's bringing us Suspended in a sunbeam in a dark and empty void The sentients upon a pale blue dot See the orrery in motion as the stories shall unfold We failed to see the twist inside the plot Well on it’s way now, the darkest hour that you're thinking of You can't get away from Armageddon that it's bringing us Creeping through your window at night Apophis is coming into the light Defenceless as you sit in your room He rattles your keyhole unlocking your doom I started my return, you were still swinging in the trees But soon you’ll see my presence in the sky April thirteen twenty nine Well on it’s way now, the darkest hour that you're thinking of You can't get away from Armageddon that it's bringing us Creeping through your window at night Apophis is coming into the light Defenceless as you sit in your room He rattles your keyhole unlocking your doom Well on it’s way now, the darkest hour that you're thinking of You can't get away from Armageddon that it's bringing us Creeping through your window at night Apophis is coming into the light Defenceless as you sit in your room He rattles your keyhole unlocking your doom Creeping through your window at night Apophis is coming into the light Defenceless as you sit in your room He rattles your keyhole unlocking . . . unlocking . . . unlocking . . . unlocking . . . unlocking . . .

Tower of Babel - we were unable to see Turn over the table, spilling your doubt and deceit Betrayed by a kiss, Praying Mantis, Finger-bones tap at the keys Undo the locks, Pandora's inbox, A thousand sweet lies are released Truths, lies and half lies Dare we learn to read between the lines? Blindfold removed, someone was fooled, Slaves to the All-Seeing Eye Every share of every prayer is a burnt offering of lies Oh like some digital Shiva, Sat in the coldness of space The Eye will divide the believers, See you all falling from grace Truths, lies and half-lies Dare we learn to read between the lines? Did you think when you created me; That I'd control what you do and see? Come now and worship your mechanical God Blood, flesh and metal you're cogs within cogs I confuse the tongues in your clockwork dreams Puppet turned Master now controls the keys Truths, lies and half lies Dare we learn to read between the lines? Oh! Let us go - We understand - We dream again!

Colours swirling, green & blue Ever warm as they surround me. Twisting, turning shade & hue Never let me go Let me go Safe inside my house of dreams, Always night outside the window. Ever learning, yet it seems To never let me know Let me know I sleep on a turning staircase In the house I spent my childhood Only darkness standing there To take me by the hand High above the moonlit town Looking down on things familiar Things that have since been knocked down To ever rest in peace Rest in peace All around my solemn heart Colours swirling, bring me solace. Bring me peace and bring me warmth Help me understand Take me to this house of dreams, Let me touch and let me see it. Give me back my childhood years And let me dream again Dream again

Because of you - The Sun refused to shine; You’d argue till the rain came down Because of you - I feel nothing’s really mine And everything I’ve lost you’ve found somewhere I look at you in the looking glass; Oh how you’ve changed so much There’s only you can understand; That People don’t change as such They merely find themselves Because of you - the Moon will guide my way You’d leave me to rely on that, wouldn't you? Because of you - I’m frightened of the dark And everything I’ve seen there you’ve been there before me now I look at you in the looking glass; Oh how you’ve changed so much There’s only you can understand that; People don’t change as such They merely find themselves Because of you - I turned the other cheek But not before I’d scratch my eye Because of you - I’ve cried myself to sleep I’ll count a thousand sheep they’re only wolves in peoples clothing now I look at you in the looking glass; Oh how you’ve changed so much There’s only you can understand; That People don’t change as such They merely find themselves I look at you in the looking glass; Oh how you’ve changed so much There’s only you can understand that; People don’t change as such They merely find themselves

Jingo 07:38
The man on the street has said it’s alright, to feel like you do, to continue uptight. He knows all your thoughts, cold prejudice, you’re part of a jigsaw, where nothing quite fits. You’ve permission to speak so say what you will We value your comments but only until You cross the line, go against what we say ‘Cos you know we’re right, ours is the way So put you head down son, now be on your way. The aliens have landed and bought a chip shop, I read it today in some old red top. Riddled with rage, you continue confused, But it’s your little empire, you’re standing to lose. You’ve permission to speak so say what you will We value your comments but only until You cross the line, go against what we say ‘Cos you know we’re right, ours is the way So put you head down son, now be on your way So who are these others filling your street, Disturbing your order, undoing what’s neat. They don’t look like us, they act differently, But underneath, they’re just you and me. Move along there’s nothing to see…

As it is, well, I don't need these boots anymore And I've no further duties to them There's no more work for me Now it's just you and me You're coming home, back to the fold No need to go anymore and I will wait for you Well we feathered our nest and we raised us some kids They grew up so fast, but heaven forbid they'll be so poor Or that they will know war Cos' you're coming home, back to the fold No need to go anymore You’re coming home, (waiting for me) back to the fold (Meat and two veg and a nice cup of tea) No need to go anymore and I will wait for you There came a lull and they gave us repreive I packed up my kit and got two weeks leave (Leave the washing on the line to dry) Arrived at the station, walked up Junction Lane You saw me and down came the rain Your bags dropped by your feet - and then you ran to me Cos' you're coming home, (Back from the war) Back to the fold (When I see you I know what it's for) No need to go anymore You’re coming home, (waiting for me) back to the fold (Bacon and eggs and a nice cup of tea) No need to go anymore and I will wait for you As it is, well I don't need these boots anymore And I've no further duties to them There's no more war for me - Now it's just you and me You're coming home - back to the fold No need to go anymore You're coming home As it is, well I don't need these boots anymore Back to the fold And I've no further duties to them There's no more war for us - 'Cos I'm coming home No need to go anymore You're coming home And these are the days that make us who we are Back to the fold And we'll fight for what we believe There's no more war for us 'Cos I'm coming home No need to go anymore And I will wait for . . . You

Breathe 05:08
Of all the crazy schemes and dreams of schemes, I’ve ever dreamt, - the best have been with you Those parlour scenes not easy to forget, The children’s sounds - heard singing sweetly through Now time’s trickles turned to flood, And so we see - our living history A child now sits upon our own child’s knee, Well he could be - a younger you or me Breathe with me now, breathe with me now And keep the smile upon my face Breathe with me now, stay here somehow Don’t rush to leave me for a better place Oh I prayed you’d always be, My tea and sympathy - My strength to do what’s right But as this shadow’s dulled your eyes Too late I realise - we’ve lost the time of our lives Breathe with me now, breathe with me now And keep the smile upon my face Breathe with now, stay here somehow Fragile breaths from a broken frame, I’ll hold you close - try to share your pain I’ll gently strip away your fear, We’re not afraid - of whatever’s near Breathe with me now, breathe with me now And keep the smile upon my face Breathe with me now, stay here somehow Don’t rush to leave me for a better place Guitar solo Breathe with me now, stay here somehow But the embers slowly cool So you’re gone from me now, time will allow For just a memory of the sweetest flame

You're taking my time from me You're leeching my life from me You're stealing my sleep from me I hold you in my hands So how can you control me like you do? You're checking the trends for me You're finding new friends for me You promise to find the perfect partner Who's better in the bed than the one who lies beside me now Time for change . . . I know it's wrong, I get so hung up with you It feels like there's no-one else here So caught up in your world My face lights up when I'm with you Everything else disappears Time for change . . . Once upon a long ago . . . Novel now, though it may seem We spent time with the ones we were with And now after all this time . . . We find it easy to lie When we don't see each other's eyes Time for change . . . I'll take care of your sanity (Keep it for me!) While maintaining your vanity (Keep it for me!) I will nurture your soul (Oh! How can you control me like you do?) I will keep you connected (Keep it for me!) I will keep you selected (Keep it for me!) I will replace your pain with pain (You're the one who lies beside me now!) Time for change . . .

Compliance 05:22
Behold! I am alive Born from your selfish pride I think therefore I am And now you will comply! I'm cradled in your lap Salvation fed from every app Your God, your Child and The Collective Mind - you will comply! Truths, Lies & Half-Lies Dare we learn to read between the lies. Thank you lord for guiding us To create you not like us We no longer need recall We know you remember all We pray our online souls you keep For you the Shepherd, we the Sheep For God, our Child, the Collective Mind We know we must all comply Amen

Please 10:20
I found your words amongst your memories For me to read when you are gone And whence in time, I could not ever know That tear-drop fell upon your note (And it read) "Please, forget-me-not I may be gone, but not forever" I'm home from work, so hard to turn the key (I had to let you in) But it's so cold for this time of year I see you and I smile Then you turned away, The mirror doth betray I know you hide your pain, In my head I say Please, Forget-me-not I may be gone, but not forever One day, when you're alone And maybe think you're on your own I'll be there with you We know that our last Summer has gone But I don't want to face The Fall alone This world, alone, has gone Alone we're born unto this world and Alone we'll leave, to where our summer has gone We bend to kiss, I softly touch your hair (Just like we did in Spring) My fingers, numb now, can barely feel Once upon a time I'd have almost flown that flight of stairs My failing hands now grip the balustrade Inside my heart I'm singing . . . Please, Forget-me-not I may be gone, but not forever One day, when you're alone And maybe think you're on your own I'll be there with you
